Post DFW Texas tournament, May 19th
Saturday May 19th
@
Starbucks
3525 Grapevine Mills Pkwy
Grapevine, TX 760512045 US
972-874-1394

We rented a conference room.

Tournament will start at 1. Sign in starts around noon (that's when I'll get there) and end at 8. If anyone wants to stay later for challenges and stuff, we can go get dinner and play at ihop or something.

Entry fee: 20

MY NUMBER: 682 465 0561
Brians number: 214 636 9490

Tournament question, call (or text) me; If you're lost, call Brian.

Card legality boilerplate: (I stole this from Iceman ^_^)
- All of the recent errata is in effect (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=38475).
- The promo warlords (Kestrel, Rabinus, etc) are legal, and can be proxied if you don't have a copy.
- Ordo promos (tyrantslayer, Roona, R'veeka, etc) are legal, per the warlord website, but cannot be proxied.
- Campaign promos (Utnapishtim, Nisroch, etc) are not legal for the tournaments, but are as always allowed in challenges.
- Phoenix Feather and Limited Wish are both allowed, but remember that you can only have three of them total, not each.

RESULTS

Well, sadly, only 6 people (including me) showed up. Not sure what happened to the others that said they would come =(
Roster was
Melon w Keziah
Brian (from oklahoma) with lady brymin
Aaron (from oklahoma) with serif
Brian (from texas) with vash arrosh
Paul (from mexico) with Kestrel
Jeremy (from northpole) with ruash shan

First place me and oklahoma brian tied in points, but he beat me so I guess he got first place. He was using a cheesy brymin rush deck that was boring :P I was trying to make level 1 and 2 characters level 5.
Paul got third place (although he beat brian) he was basically 1 point behind me and brian, so it was very close. His deck was incredibly annoying and shouldn't be listed cus then other people might use it and be just as annoying as paul, and no one wants that. =[
aaron's serif deck was a lot like my keziah deck, trying to level up tacus and stuff, except he also ran serif to the front with items and used common blade.
jeremies ruash shan deck was silly and was built to get a bunch of charges on swamp hydra.
brian's vash arrosh deck had lots of monsters and such that hit you really hard, but it seems like it takes too long to set up so he died before too much punching happened.

then we did some boat challenges. I used Brian (from oklahomas) deck cus A) I don't have access to the TO forum so wasn't sure how everyone was told to make it and B) I was lazy and didn't bother to build one =D Anyway, his deck was stupid and everyone did like 3 challenged each and it was boring so i changed out a bunch of characters to make it actually beatable and then Brian managed to beat it once, but no one else came close even with the changes

then brian and aaron left and we went and saw the avengers ^_^

yay

Not that I'll be there  (curses on there not being a playgroup around here anymore...) but why this? It's just curosity as I'll likely never play either.

That is not the rule for my tournament, it's just the rule in general. Basically what it boils down to is that thinning your deck by 6 cards over the course of a tournament is kinda stupid, so you only get to continue thinning it by 3 like always.

Some days I miss the original treasure trait.
I remember when they first rolled out the original Qor-teth, I was able to drop my deck down to 30 cards by the end of the tournament.

coffee is gross. I only drink chai tea latte's at starbucks o.o which taste a lot like pumpkin pie.

anyway, all of my decks were filled with proxies from playtest. also, i needed a fast deck so i could finish and then be ready to score results and stuff. I did kinda want to play my nin gula deck though

Not too hard to guess, given that it's Kestrel and that it's annoying.

Congrats Bryan Newton. Glad you were still able to make it. Bummer that the Amarillo guys weren't able to make it.
