3.5 is not a defunct system.. Real D&D will live on thanks to Paizo the guys who brought you dragon magazine for those of us who thought of 4th ed as a punch in the nuts.. Heres a link

I think with a little house ruling and a bit of wriggling stuff about those of us who loathe the very core of 4.0 and all who stand with it.. Or who just prefer the old system can have what they want.
