Post Re: Naram-Sin (Brine Fiend of Death)
Normally I get 6 to 7 charges turn 1 through Ygrass or Harvast. if so then I only need 1 Shonta to survive for next turn. To make that happen I through Naram to the front on turn 1, before LVing. If I got Lift theres my first turn helper, and if I get Nag then he won't need to stun. I do this to get at least one wound on him so when he does LV and gets a weapon (also a factor in if Naram can go to the front) he will have 15/10/10/10 for swings.

Basically the deck has a very complicated but fun autopilot. If a/b/and c happens then do this, if a/d/ and e happens then do this. Normally by turn 3 I know if I can win or not. The only late game problem that ever arises is if the Shield is taken from me.That normally spells death for him so I keep a spare in my hand at all times just to make sure that doesn't happen.

maul of justice is such an awesome card in this deck. after naram beefs he has base +10, and the mall gives 2
so +12, all you need is 1 wound anywere in your army for +15 powerattack +10 with 8 skill
a recent game against a pinion had me swinging 45/40/40/40 (soothing waters, puts wounds on "storage" charecters in rank 2/3)
anyway, i dont much like shulgi =( they're like a pathetic amatria tansiq
but thats the real issue is there arent many stable chosen lvl 1's
i find blood couldron's for this deck are SUPERB, with all the thrall's i run in mine i just pour them out, i was starting darkspawns but im thinking of switching, we'll have to see.

I think cowl of knowledge is a good opt to increase scribe and AC no?And my naram uses holy might and pagophoros to hold a blitz rank....

was looking throuh your decklist and must say you had an awesome idea with the Shield of simurgh and the black sun helm, i didnt have any so i had never noticed them but after seeing your decklist i traded friends for them and they really solved every issue i was having with my own naram-sin.

I also use cowl of knowledge instead of the spaulders cause it's an awesome way to jack my AC, the spaulders might be better for you though, im just saying i love having naram sin uuber tank. my game last night had him with 28AC, +36/+31/+31/+31, 4hp, can't be multiwounded, and i have Mistress dagani chilling in rank 3 with a cure lethal wounds and a final blessing ;)

i use the cowl in mind, combo'd with ring of the savant, 4 or better to scribe, 6 to scribe from my graveyard with the ring's order

I have found that Naram really likes Soothing Waters and Burial Shroud. Kill a thrall and they go back on top of the deck...especially nice if it's The Harvest

Actually, for a pure defensive start, Shulgi is a little better than Amatria

I like Forest People...13AC is pretty good on a starter.

Forest People are alright. Devs worked off Baudwyn for years. Shulgi's and Devoted give the best rank holding, IMO. You can essentially lock up an opponent's first rank with one missed shulgi check and your follow up strike. Devoted...........well what's really left to say that hasn't been said already.

I've gone back to Duanna and a more mid range appraoch to Naram. I just play to win one long drawn out game. Duanna recursion and Blood Cauldron. Bloodoak, Soothing Waters, Sanai. Make sure all my characters die to "my" actions to get those charges up and then unleash some vengeance.

Played a few games last night...Naram went 3-1 :D Defeated Sigurdur Cav, Scyrax Blitz/Cav, Menhitiri Dragon-recursion and fell in a rematch w/ Scyrax. I don't remember the exact decklist, but I only run cleric items/actions to avoid dead cards.

Nice.

I tend to shy away from too many fighter cards myself. With cards like Return to Us in the mix, I've been expanding my selection a little bit. Some pretty interesting stuff out there now. Good to see some chosen discussion on here again. Hopefully when the next chosen deck comes out it will liven this place up a bit.
