Post Sanga-Kish deck for a newbie local
A friend wanted to get into the game, and liked the idea of Sanga-Kish. Made a basic deck out of the spare stuff I had (I have a lot of pre-4E cards, not so much spare for the new ones), and was wondering if anyone had opinions on it. Won't be winning any tournaments like this, but should be able to hold its own in casual play, ideally.

Sanga-Kish
1 The Earth
1 Wailing Scrambler
1 The Devoted
2 Shulgi

2 The Devoted
2 Duanna
3 The Wheat
2 Nish-Bakr
2 Winti
2 The Plentiful
3 Master Kelkrys
2 Nemrah
1 Blood Cauldron

1 Cloak of the Leech
1 Castux (for style)
2 Living History

2 Ball Lightning
2 Curse of Heartless Lies
2 Magic Missiles
2 Churning Wrath
2 Flame Arrows
2 Lightning Bolt
2 Fireball
2 Arc Lightning
2 Blood Price
3 Jump

I have a third of just about all of those cards, including them with the deck so he can switch things out as he pleases, as well as a Golden Circlet, Ivory Scepter, Ivory Ring, Ironcloth Bracers, Spellbook, Rings of Vorn, and Magic Shifting.
Any suggestions, outside of "stuff it full of rare wizard actions that you either don't have or don't have spares of"? (though I could spring for a couple spells for him if they're really vital...)

Disintegrate and Chain Lightning are vital. Viper Whip is up there if youre not including Icy Surge.

Got any Mistress Tamine to spare? She's a good backup caster/thrall-eater. Other than that, woodrow is spot on about Disintegrate and Viper Whip.

Alas, I don't even have Viper Whips for myself, could use three for me too. I can't seem to get any anywhere. =/
I'm sure I can scrounge up some Disintegrates, though.
Have no Mistress Tamine.
Will see how many Chain Lightning I have.

Thanks for the help.

Think it needs more movement 'maindecked'? The character selection look about right? Brine Fiends, perhaps?

I am curious to why you think chain lightning is vital?

I tend to use Lightning Bolt instead when making Wizard decks for new players, but that's more a mix of not having a lot of Chain Lightnings and tending to have a fair number of level 3 Wizards in the decks as well.

Eh. His skill matters for only Icy Surge and only while spending, and the +1 level just brings him up to the level he should be based on where he came into play.
I guess a wizard with 3HP is nice, but it'd be more as a meatwall than as a secondary caster.

CL is fairly (very?) popular right now for its rank penetration. Two years ago, single-wounding non-spend orders trumped all (they're still potent, don't get me wrong - but they're merely staple cards now). Why? IMO, cause now, you need to be able to a) multi-wound and b) handle pesky mid-rank utility characters and warlords.
And with Sanga's wound-based bonus to the strikes, you will almost always be tossing +9/+6/+2 for two wounds. If they don't have healing or redirection, that's two to three characters killed with one spell.

Cheers.
