What is this "rank building" nonsense? You need exactly 2 cards in the opening hand: Dodo and the Boat.

Action 1: Play Dodo.
Action 2: Search out Shan-Kassyn.
Action 3: Dodo in Shan-Kassyn.
Action 4: Shan-Kassyn in the Boat.
Action 5: LOLZ.

Having just won the boat at yesterdays event in CT, I'm contemplating running Atiratu now at the NJ event in two weeks. I'm looking at this decklist though, and I noticed that only Dodo and Ashtaroth are available to cast False God's - not very good. Oly cannot cast it as it is not a spell, so some rethinking is needed there. That simple fact probably HAMMERS the consistency of this build.

Good catch. That is a strike against consistency.
May have to take Council out now...

Replace x2 Oloi with Firams?

Firam can search the boat with just one kill.

EDIT: I've updated the decklist to include possible solutions.
Another Firam instead of Ash may be viable as well.

I replaced Oloi with x3 Rhomelzard to play the statue and cast I call forth valor if needed.

Keeping the core idea (drop the boat, pop out Daemons), I went in a different route with the card selections. Here's what I have together - Dropping the Boat early all but ensures the win, but it can still play strong without the OL hitting early:

Mitrasz x3
The Plentiful, The Earth
Atiratu

Redu Carr x3
Nisroch x3
Redu Tam x2
Ygrassyne x3
Shan-Kassyn x2
Bal-Benoth x1
Bem Kaundodo x1
Utnapishtim x1
Getraxos x1
Flayer of Dreams x1
Raging Hungerer x1

I Call Forth Valor x3
Meet at the Inn x3
Counterspell x3
Tether x2
Blink x2
Life is Magic x2

Limited Wish x3
Ring of Vorn x2
Backbiter x2
Smoke Imp x1
Eternity Gate x1
Dark Heart of Kylnion x1

Looks good! We started out with very similar deckbuilds!
Playtest the hell out of it, and lemme know how your's evolves!

I really like smoke imp.

I did another 11 playtest games last night. 6/11 first turn drops (crazy stuff happened... missed ICFV hitting Shan, couldn't draw shan... etc)
But still hit 100% 2nd turn, but one game didn't have any army left. Ended up winning 8/11 against mostly frontline fighter builds. (no antimeta)
The deck was tested at 47 cards with x0 Wishes and x0 False Council.
Shan and Wishes are soo crucial.

Blink is just amazing. Just scribing it to the Boat is enough to mess with heads.

Also - sometimes I park the boat in rank 2, since both the Hungerer and Getraxos can move up as Orders. Swapped As'sa for Pago - he can come to rank 1 as a react out of the boat.

Rank 2 can be dangerous. If they win initiative, they can stun you forward... leaving you with a useless, vulnerable boat.

Just spend Mitrasz back to guarantee defense & tempo.
You can start turn 2 with Drop, Attack, Drop, Attack

(Also, be sure to burn off any extra searching/orders/thralls on turn 1, and keep the extra daemons in your hand to stack your next turn)

Blink is great, maybe better than confound (depending on local meta), but make sure you run x3 counterspell for wizzy blitz & D-Rift & Entomb.

I like the Pago idea... just run x3 of whoever you choose. It makes ICFV much easier.

I went with Blink for 3 reasons: (1) no spending as a part of the cost. (2) Boat makes it on anything but a 1. (3) Stops DC checks as well as strikes.

Yeah, confound has been pretty useless...

It's only included for first turn rank support to protect my 2nd rank.
I can spend Rhomelzard/Aitiratu/Shan to redirect an order strike or ranged strike back to their own army.

You might find that the boat doesn't need much protection... it'll die off by turn 3, which is plenty of time for your opponent to give up or rage quit.

Yea, most of the time a single scribed spell is enough protection. Also, Tether stops D-rift.
We've renamed the deck "Melisandre" for (hopefully) obvious reasons

lol, I swear I must be the only one not watching Game of thrones....

You can't Tether the boat... Unless you drop shan next to it...

hey wait... Tether is better than confound for 1st blitzes... hmm... too bad it's got a rank restriction... a Tether'd Getraxos is evil...

EDIT: Okay, Shan can just do it 1st turn on the boat... nice.

Exactly. Before you flip the boat upside-down, Scribe something and Tether it. Then strap on the LOLERSK8Z, you're goin' for a ride.

If I had to, I would probably just add an additional copy of some of the 2x cards. $5 isn't much though. I've lined up my last few wishes for next week's event.
