Did your deck have Sin-Marduk in it? If so were you able to utilize him effectively. I own one but decided not to include him in the deck or any of the rank building items.

No, I did not run Marduk. The decklist was posted in General - and on page 2 of this thread. Good call on leaving out the rank-building items; they're decidedly sub-optimal. Even if you want to drop the DL, all you need is 2 Shan-Kassyn in play and you can probably drop him in 6 (assuming Dodo is your rank 4). Even so, I think you would find that he lacks any kind of impact on the game all the way back there. By the time you get him up to the fray, you should have won already via the Daemons coming off the Boat. Even when you have room to put in Marduk/Eresh, that slot is almost certainly better used for a Daemon the Boat can drop into rank 1, even a dupe of Getraxos for when your opponent downs the first one.

The field yesterday was lacking a few key factors: Drasek and Dwarves. I was prepared for those matches (Tether + Backbiter for Getraxos/Hungerer), and the tools were mostly overkill against armies that did not field 3+HP characters. I recommend trying the list as I have it before making theorycraft edits - you'll see how effective things are and why I'm having trouble coming up with cards to cut/change.

Not sure you can have Sin Marduk and the Boat in the same deck due to the 1 Overlord rule.

As for how to make the deck better, if there is anyway you could run this just as consistently out of a cleric build, it might be more devastating. I noticed watching games with both Oremm and lastdragon21's builds that multiple multi-wounding strikes just chew through the deck. If you can find a way to mitigate or remove some of those wounds so that you have a chance to swing back.

I would also consider As'sa as a daemon to add to the deck.

Unatshiptm=Overlord
Sin Marduk=Daemonlord

I don't see the problem.

Bal-Benoth replaced As'sa at the last minute thanks to the errata. I think he'll go back in when I revamp the deck more for funsies. As for running this out of a Cleric - there's really no way to do this without the card-search from Atiratu. ANY other WL would just have to draw god-hands all the time. No consistency at all.

EDIT: Updated decklist for additional style points:

Mitrasz x3
The Plentiful, The Earth
Atiratu

Redu Carr x3
Redu Tam x3
Ygrassyne x3
Shan-Kassyn x2
As'sa x3
Bem Kaundodo x1
Utnapishtim x1
Getraxos x1
Flayer of Dreams x1
Raging Hungerer x1

I Call Forth Valor x3
Meet at the Inn x3
Counterspell x3
Tether x2
Blink x2
Life is Magic x2
False God's Council x2
Draw the Essence x1

Ring of Vorn x2
Backbiter x2
Smoke Imp x1
Eternity Gate x1
Dark Heart of Kylnion x1

Did any one try this at a 'major' event yet? Say KublaCon or a WC event?

Two Atiratu boat drop decks were in the NJ Winter Campaign. Oremm's made it to top 4.

No one was running the boat drop at Kubla, that I saw.

not sure boat drop would survive the Westcoast minefield.

It'll have to do well at GenCon to convince me of much. It seems very fragile.

It could very well cut at GenCon, but I don't think it's in the running for the #1 overall. You are right about the frailty.

I know, right!?

It's funny even against defensive build or rancher decks. The little 2hp mitrasz who can't attack... ...can just spend back to guarantee a boat in the front.

I wonder if Paymaster Corr should go in too? He's instant rank stability/building/ versatility.

Why paymaster enters as a level 5 unless your warlords a merc ;)

It has legit taken me all these YEARS to realize that the Boat can magicaly summon Eresh/Marduk. Maybe the ship could have dominated if I had been running Eresh....
