Post Naram Sin from GenCon
This is the deck I played in the singles championship at GenCon.
It ran very well. In only one game the entire day did it 'wolf out' Naram in turn three instead of two.

Naram-Sin
Split-Tongue
Shonta
Redu Zayd x3

Redu Bir x2
Redu Tam x2
Redu Carr x2
The Earth
The Harvest x3
Amends x3
Dala x3

Embolden x3
Draw the Essence x3
Divine Guidance x3
Final Blessing x2
Minor Miracle x2
Kor's Patience x2

Camel x2
Niobe's Leaf x2
Blackstone Spaulders
Boots of Water Walking
Earth Mephit
Blessed Bangle
Imperial Scepter
Wyvern Gem
Limited Wish x2
Phoenix Feather

For normal play, I would replace the Wishes with Soothing Waters (to redirect wounds to the Zayds) and the Feather with Canticle (plus maybe the Gem for a second one).
Honestly, even in another tournament I'd be tempted to get Soothing Waters in there somehow. But, as always, where? Every card had its place and its moment to shine. :)

This list is actually very similar to mine although in testing mine didn't fair too well. Im glad yours did. I had a lot of issues with dead cards. Like if I ever got draw essence or divine guidance first turn they were dead cards. I hate having dead cards.

Post Re: Naram Sin from GenCon
Draw the Essence was a dead card a couple times (most notably in the finals).
Divine Guidance was a dead card maybe once the whole day - I was generally willing to move to the front rank first turn and either attack or at least be up-and-ready second turn.

The trade-off for possible unplayable cards in the opening hand is their sheer power in turns 2 and 3. Obviously. ;)
DtE could turn a game around completely via its wound removal, ability to ignore planar and turn-long extra strike. DG is just More Power, period (in several games, I pitched a Wish to it - more useful to ready than to dig the deck).

Honestly, Naram's biggest weakness is turn one (dead cards or no). You have to play smart to make it to turn two with all your plans still intact And enough charges to get to ten on action one or two. And you have to get a little lucky, cause your stat-line positively stinks until you get that tenth (12 AC, really?).
But once you do, the opponent is on a clock. He's got one or, at maximum, two turns after this one before he's destroyed. In the tourney, out of the nine games I won, only two went to turn five. So you're not only the underdog, but the comeback kid as well. :)

Do you think Flavia could have found her way in?

@Kama - Nope. Rarely needed that kind of multi-wounding. Loved getting Amends two turns in a row.
Plus, I drew the Leaf often enough first turn And rolled enough 1's And rarely got many boosts to AC that Backbiter probably would've cost me more than help me.

@Woodrow - Mistress Flavia would help very little - the opposing character is only level 1 or 2, so sacrificing them isn't worth many charges. And, other than Bir and Dala having secondary abilities, that's what most of the army has to be about - getting those charges.

Vic you would be proud. I piloted Naram to a 2nd place finish. I was 2 rolls away from winnning the whole thing with this list:

3 redu zayd
1 shonta
1 the earth
1 naram

3 amends
3 dala
3 redu carr
3 redu tam
3 the harvest
2 blood cauldron-why dont you play these?! they combo so nicely with amends and niobes leaf

3 embolden
3 soothing waters
2 draw the essence
2 minor miracle
2 final blessing

3 camel
2 niobes leaf
1 blackstone spaulders
1 helm of kor
1 dragontear shield
1 earth mephit
1 blessed bangle
1 canticle
1 boots of water walking
1 healing potion
1 dallens eye
1 imperial scepter

I was thoroughly impressed with how the deck performed. It went well above my expectations. I gotta give you props for providing a solid foundation. My problem when first putting the deck together was trying to go too heavy on the fighter items when in reality I shouldn't have been playing any at all. The classless items and the cleric items were enough. CoG really gave naram the boost he needed.

Excellent!

During playtest, I never had the ranks to get it out and keep it from stunning after one use.
I like it for more casual play, though, glad you got use from it.

Hmm, no divine guidance. Though with the item base you've got, I could see rarely having a dead card to discard.

Get much use from the Helm? That is, face much readying?
Love the shield-mephit double-dip-ac combo.

I think that's always the temptation - I probably wouldn't run even the one Gem any more.
Heck, someone once postulated that an interesting 'class in session' would be him already as a fighter. ;)

And yeah - his time is definitely now. Nicely done.

I think this card is amazing in this deck, and yes, he got great use from it. I can see how you would end up with a flat front rank, but all-in-all, this was a good choice for him. I know it is clogging it up, and I talked to him about it the other night when he was over, but I am a big fan of Mistress Sanai in this deck and in Ruash (more so in the latter). she readies, and can make anything edible, including herself when she is done.

my 2 cents.

Chase reacted off The Earth dying by opposing actions in the first two rounds until he faced me and I pointed it out.

haha. cheater.

It's ok, I was giddy when playing before the tourney with Draven about how [Censor: Quack!] insane Entomb is with the react from Menhetiri to brng it back into play until I realized after the fact it is opposing level 0 character. He never used it that way, but still, it pays to read.

In a crazy version of G I would Kors Patience with my starting Arla and use Nightmare Blade/Backstab. Against this one Atiratu deck I stunned his Getraxos all three games with it.
