Post Mak and Makob
My new project is Mak and Makob. First things first: What style deck do I want to build? Beatstick? Uber? Swarm? Control? As a cleric/fighter, control doesn't really work too well (especially at 4th level). Swarm is a viable option from any cleric, but it's not really my playstyle. Build/Uber are probably more reallistic options, but picking the "right" equipment set is tough for a Warlord like Mak and Makob.

Thoughts?

I think he is always the type to try and go uber.... Mercs have plenty of meatwalls they can send up to hold ranks as well as Bribe for bringing in other faction meatwalls. You could try to go crazy and get Tome of Champions, Tome of Divine Wisdom, Sir Tython's Shield, and Deima's Shield all equipped. :evillaugh: That's a ton of HP and Levels... then you can easily equip anything you want like The King's Lady, Ring of Regeneration, ML items, etc.

It wouldn't necessarily be the most successful deck, but it would fun to see him all decked out.

Mak and Makob uber is rough. You want to run enough characters to not get crushed. You want to run enough draw to get your items. You want to run enough items to have a good build even if you only get on half of them. I find that deckspace becomes an issue. Darkhide Armor, Signon's Armor (or Isidran Mail), Ring of Resilience, TKL, Mkono-Djarat, Helm of Vision/Isidran Mail, Avatar of Neus/Albrecht, both Shields, Meditation, Medusan Lord's Might, Silverwind, Blacksun Helm/Helm of Terror/the Deep, Bracers of Weaponry, multiwounding/auto-death protection/item protection. That takes up a lot of slots.

Yea, I guess Mak and Makob do uber better than they do anything else, even though they still suck at it. You know, You could abuse War Spikes with him too.

I say you buck the system and go melee. Phantom Steed up there and smash face. Just throw on items that you'll get mileage and extra offense out of and run it 9 man with 3 ToL's. :war: :vomit:

Scourge of Dythanus to move a wound to a Minor Dragonkin.
Dragon's Horde to search for an item and get +5 Equiping bonus.
Uber WAY up.

That would help with my "Get Tome of Champions, Tome of Divine Wisdom, Sir Tython's Shield, And Deima's Shield Equipped" Plan...

A guy in the bad warlords tournament in KY recently played him. He reliably got on Tomes and Shields against everything except Norn Throg blitz.

Brine Fiend isn't female.

I think I've decided to go sort of slow-rush, with the Bruntor's Set filling in the fighter item slots, and some wacky-ish lower-level cleric items coming in next. Feels stable, to me, and should be fun (if not earth-shatteringly good), which is what I'm going for.
