Would she break the format? I doubt it.

Im assuming that if she was nasty back then and they had to errata her then she would be even worse now. Just saying

She was overpowered by the standards of the Epic format environment. In Ancients she would be just another drawing spellcaster. A good one, mind, but still...hardly the only fish in her sea.

Well she has more draw/tools in Ancients to actually be better.

Yep. Is better broken, or is it just card draw? ;-)

There are lots of Warlords in Ancients who can draw an absurd # of cards first turn. It doesn't mean they win. Ancients is too fruitloopy a format to say "drawing lots of cards wins me the game." Its' just not a true statement.

Post Re: Deck Challenge: If Jautya Were Legal...
For what it is worth, I disagree with banning any warlord. As a matter of fact, I was suprised one was even disallowed when the list first hit. Afterwards, I was suprised to see Jautya on it and not [Censor: Quack!] Etra Bloodvine. However, there has not been one card on the list that did not deserve to be there (except, again, imo, Jautya).

That said, I was prepared to argue the point my deck could go infinite, but I would be wrong, since I fail to read cards well enough to see "spend order." I still refuse to go with dev/dwarf simply because I do not like the Aroch set infinity.

Unless someone could come up with a cool way to win in a funny way with it and not just attacking till Judgement Day.

Ah, Etra. She got a lot of discussion. It was finally decided, I believe, that as her ability has no proactive damage built-in she couldn't be banned just because she was a [Censor: dog].

NPE was a term I strictly avoided with the Ancients writeup. Too many opinions exist on what's fun and not fun. For everyone who says Etra is an NPE there's another person to say "no she isn't." So it was left at the door that unless something generated infinite it didn't get banned, basically. There were a few exceptions (such as Brother Averil, and Heerman's Epic) which were removed based on other principles. Jautya, yeah, was eliminated because there are literally thousands of characters in the game, and rather than sit down and go through every single one of them that Jautya could switch with, and worry about characters printed in the future, we just said "screw it" and banned him. Lazy or proactive, you decide. :-P

For general play, but for the purpose of this contest, as I already stated, Kabyrr will be played as printed. This news comes too late to the party.

[off topic, but you were first]
about playing cards as is.
This was a suggestion I had, but it was quickly rebuked (i forget by whom) but they cared about ancients/open more than me so I dropped it.

I suggested it to get people to stop whining about MRP's, but I believe one of the arguments against it was that, there are several printings of different cards, and ti could get confusing. Case being blink. You have at least 3 different versions and if you played "as is" you could have 3 blinks in your deck that each played slightly different. Doesn't bother me in the least, but other people seem to have issues with it.

also might have to ban a few more cards that caused infinite's before their errata
